John Harris

John Harris has been a full time professional storyteller working exclusively with children and young people for over twenty years. He has a wealth of experience and a wealth of stories: a repertoire of over 300 folk tales, fairy tales, myths and legends from every corner of the world (and a few of his own) which are exciting, engrossing, thought provoking, sad, moving, happy, hilarious and a bit scary - sometimes all in the same story!

His work encourages listening and speaking skills, concentration, an understanding of narrative, and the love of stories which is the basis not just of a love of reading but of a fully rounded human being. He visits schools all over the country and always arrives with boundless energy, photo ID, DBS certificate and his own lunch. Most of his bookings are return visits or by recommendation and the single word used most often to describe his performances is 'Spellbinding'. When you see him you'll know why.
