Young Blackpool Poets is currently recruiting for school classes to be involved in a new poetry programme running from Autumn 2021.

Your school class will receive a free programme of creative writing activities, resources and workshops, including a visit to a local cultural venue, a workshop with a local professional poet and a scheme of work to help you to best support your students' writing confidence and attitudes. Students will have the opportunity to publish their poetry in an anthology and to share their creativity at performance events in partnership with local arts and cultural spaces.

School classes can be Years 5 - 9, of approximately 30 students per class. The programme will run Autumn to Spring, with anthology and performances following. No prior experience or interest in poetry is required of students or teachers. The National Literacy Trust provides free teacher training on how to teach poetry and how to make the most of cultural experiences.
