World Book Day 2018 is coming up on 1 March! At the National Literacy Trust, we'll be celebrating the day with lots of activity across our Hubs and programmes.
Each of our Hubs and regional campaigns will receive 100 extra £1 book tokens from World Book Day, which will be shared with local children through our network of partners to ensure they reach those most in need. In Bradford, the tokens will be distributed through Literacy Champions, while in Middlesbrough and the North East we'll work with NEPACS to give extra tokens to children whose parents are in prison.
Football clubs across the country will be hosting World Book Day events as part of our sport and literacy work, including author events and pop-up bookshops at clubs including Crawley Town and Derby County. Plus, lots of our corporate partners will be holding fundraising events in stores and offices to raise money for our work.
To help make World Book Day special – and to encourage reading for the rest of the year too – we have a whole range of resources including lesson plans, activity sheets, discussion guides and more. Just visit the Nursery, Primary or Secondary resource areas to find what you need.
We are proud to have worked with the World Book Day team for some of our favourite books.
