Impact of the Young Readers Programme

Added 25 Jul 2017

The National Literacy Trust’s Young Readers Programme improves children and young people’s literacy by motivating them to read for pleasure. Learn more about the impact of the programme on children and teachers in schools across the UK.

According to the OECD Reading for Change report, one of the most effective ways to develop children’s literacy skills is to engage them in reading for pleasure.  The programme has been shaped by our extensive research into this area, and we aim to continually improve the programme by evaluating its impact on children and teachers every year.
