Words for Work and HarperCollins work experience competition

secondary girls and teacher

If you could publish a book, what would it be about and why?

In partnership with HarperCollins, we have launched an exciting opportunity aimed at students in Key Stages 4 and 5 in Stoke-on-Trent.

20 students will have the opportunity to visit HarperCollins’ offices in London*, during half term on 28 May 2019, to participate in a one-day immersive work experience. The work experience will include masterclasses from HarperCollins, a panel of publishers and producers, and employability workshops from the National Literacy Trust.

This competition is open to and completely free for Stoke-on-Trent secondary schools. Entries are invited from students in KS4 and KS5.

We would like to ask students to answer the following question to register their interest:

If you could publish a book, what would it be about and why?

Students can submit this in 250-300 words or a 30 second to 1 minute-long video.

All entries, along with this form, should be sent to wfw@literacytrust.org.uk. Entries are due in by Friday 26 April.

*Please note that all travel expenses will be covered.
