Next week, to celebrate National Storytelling Week, we’re joining forces with Premier League Primary Stars and Girls FC author Helena Pielichaty to bring children a series of football-themed activities, exclusive video content, a free ebook and a Facebook Live event!

From Monday 1 February, you will find all the activities and information on wordsforlife.org.uk/premierleague.

Facebook Live interview with Helena Pielichaty

Children and their families can tune into the Facebook Live session with Helena Pielichaty and CBBC Match of the Day Kickabout presenter Ben Shires live on our Facebook page at 10.30am on Tuesday 2 February to hear all about Helena’s books, and how she creates and develops her characters.

Helena will also provide a mini workshop all about character development and Ben will ask her questions taken from the live audience.

Don’t worry if you miss it, you can watch the interview again on our Facebook page any time – you just won’t get a shout-out or be able to ask a question!

Create a character challenge

In an exclusive video, to support children in their home learning, Helena Pielichaty will set children an exciting writing challenge and task them to create their own character using her top tips.

Alongside this, schools and families can also download a handy resource to help with this challenge. From 1 February visit the Premier League Primary Stars website to watch a film of Helena setting her challenge and to download the free resource that supports it.

Free Girls FC ebook

We are also very excited to have joined forces with Walker Books to share an ebook version of Helena Pielichaty’s Do Goalkeepers Wear Tiaras from the Girls FC series. Families can access and enjoy the title for free via our Premier League takeover page.
