We have published two of our most valuable and popular National Literacy Trust membership resources, the Annual Literacy Review and the Literacy Guide for Schools for 2016/17. There are primary and secondary versions of each resource, with taster sections available for those who are not yet members.
The Annual Literacy Review 2016/17 enables schools to evaluate their current literacy provision and make an action plan for moving forward. Fully aligned to the national curriculum for England, the tool has a new format for this year, with each section comprised of a review poster and a detailed advice document.
Each poster contains a series of literacy statements, designed to be printed in A3 and displayed around the school. The advice documents looks at each statement in detail and offer further guidance and links to useful documents and resources. The Literacy Guide for Schools 2016/17 aims to support teachers and leaders of literacy to bridge the gap between research and practice by drawing together key updates across all areas of the English curriculum. The guide interprets literacy policy changes and research, advises on how this translates into the classroom, and signposts to relevant content to support planning. The guide is designed to be used alongside the Annual Literacy Review. Download taster sections for primary and secondary.
