The Great World Book Day Footy & Booky quiz is back for 2024!
We were joined by footballers from across the Premier League, Women's Super League and the English Football League AND Football School author Ben Lyttleton for our annual interactive and fun quiz guaranteed to get your pupils extra excited about reading.
This year our 30-minute quiz* was hosted by teacher Kit Brown and took place on World Book Day, Thursday 7 March 2024 at 9.30am. The quiz featured two rounds of questions (one football-themed, one reading-themed) pitched by your footballing heroes and our writer pals.
Schools had the chance to participate live, win prizes and generally have a ball.

Premier League Magazine Team, Live! with Jake Wilson from BBC Match of the Day Magazine and author Matt Oldfield.
On Wednesday 20 December 2023, BBC Match of the Day magazine's, Jake Wilson and top footy author, Matt Oldfield, led a live workshop to guide pupils through writing their own article as if they were real footy journalists. They shared tips, tricks and secrets to help them create articles about their own favourite skills. We even had exclusive content from a Premier League and Welsh international player... can you work it out? :)

Active Phonics Premier League Takeover with MC Grammar
MC Grammar hosted an awesomely-active funky-fresh phonics event on Thursday 6 July 2023. We moved it, made it, learnt it, and LOVED it!
Star of Sky Kids’ Wonder Raps and World Book Day Ambassador, MC Grammar was created by award-winning teacher, Jacob Mitchell. What started in his primary school classroom as simple songs and rhymes has catapulted Jacob to international stardom. Whether it’s blending books with beats to create hooks and melodies or his catchy songs, Jacob’s action-packed lessons and methods are now shared all over the world. His fierce belief, ‘if a child can’t learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn’ underpins his mission: to entertain, educate and empower our future.
