Please note that this event has been rescheduled until next year (Sunday 9 May 2021). All registrations are valid for the new date and all runners should have received an email with further details. Please contact the team if you have any questions.
For the first time ever, we are bringing our Where's Wally? fun run to Peterborough!
There will be a 5km course, with an option to run twice to complete 10km. The 5km is perfect for beginners or those looking to achieve a personal best. You can run, jog, walk or scoot the route!
Why not enter as a team with family, friends, colleagues or your school? The largest team will receive 250 new books for a local school of your choice.
Every runner will receive:
- Where's Wally? costume
- Collectible medal
- Fundraising support
But this isn't just a fun day out for all the family. Every penny raised from this event will help transform the life stories of children in some of the most deprived communities in Peterborough, by giving them the literacy skills they need to succeed in life.
5km / 10km - These routes are perfect for everyone, whether you are a first timer or chasing a personal best! It is clearly signposted to help you stay on the course. There will be plenty of marshals to help you too.
- 9:30am: Check in and costume collection open
- 10.20am: Shout out and warm-up
- 10:30am: 5k and 10k races start
How you will make a difference:
Every penny raised from this event will help give disadvantaged children in Peterborough the literacy skills they need to succeed. These children will be held back at every stage of their lives. They will struggle to do well in school or to find a job, and when they become parents won't be able to support their own child's learning - creating a vicious cycle of deprivation.
In light of recent news reports, we wanted to reassure everyone taking part that Where’s Wally? fun run will go ahead as scheduled. UK Government advice is currently indicating that small events like this one can and should go ahead. If that changes, we'll contact you as soon as possible by email.
We are putting in place precautionary measures to make sure that all of our runners and volunteers have a safe and enjoyable time at the Where’s Wally? fun run and to help minimise the spread of any illness, including coronavirus. These include:
Hand washing and sanitisation facilities on site. NHS advice is to wash hands to minimise the spread of any infection, including coronavirus.
- Disposable gloves for volunteers and staff working on baggage and registration.
- Option to collect your goody bag and medal. The NHS advise that it's very unlikely that coronavirus can be spread through things like packages or food. However, we will give our runners the option to collect goody bag items directly from the tables, rather than be handed them by staff.
- Individually bottled water will be provided at the finish. Please note that the water stations along the route will still be water urns and paper cups. You are welcome to bring your own water should you wish.
- As a further precaution, we'll ask runners to wait until advised to gather in the start area and to leave more space than usual during these few moments of crowd density.
We ask all of our participants to be vigilant and seek advice from NHS 111 if you think you have symptoms or you might have been exposed to the virus. Further information can be found on the NHS website.
What are the age limits for each race?
There aren't any restrictions on age - you can even push a pushchair round. Under 4s go free.
What's included in my registration fee?
Your registration fee will cover the cost of the event itself, along with your official Where's Wally? costume and a collectable medal. We really do rely on the generosity of our runners to raise additional sponsorship to help us continue our vital work.
How do I fundraise?
When you have registered you will be sent a downloadable fundraising pack and information about setting up your JustGiving page.
There's no minimum fundraising target for participants in the Where's Wally? fun run, however we do encourage everyone to fundraise what they can!
Fundraising isn't for me - can I make a donation?
Absolutely! You have the option of making an additional donation to support our work at the checkout when you purchase your entry tickets. We will also send you information about making an additional donation to support our work when you register.
Every penny helps, and you could transform a child's life story with a donation of just £7, which could pay for a child taking part in a programme that sparks a love of reading to choose their very first book to take home and keep forever.
What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please visit the park website for further information on parking.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome to join us.
Is the course suitable for everyone?
The races are suitable for buggies / pushchairs. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer and to be vigilant of other runners overtaking during the race. The races are also suitable for wheelchair users.
What's the refund policy?
