📢 Calling all teachers, lecturers, and youth workers of Birmingham! 👩‍🏫✨

Ever considered teaching basic filming skills in your classroom or to the young individuals you engage with? If so, why not participate in our free Teaching Video Making Workshop, with Dr. Alaina Schempp, a Film lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Gain insights not only into honing your own filming skills but also on how to instruct others as well. All you will need is a smartphone to hand.

In addition to tips and tricks on filming we will also provide information and resources about our #MyBirminghamStory campaign that you can use as an example in your filming lessons whilst also contributing to the campaigns tapestry of amazing Birmingham stories.

Dr Alaina Schempp Bio
Dr Alaina Schempp is a lecturer in Film at the University of Birmingham. She has a PhD in Film from the University of Kent an MA in Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a BA in Film and Video Studies and English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.

Dr Schempp is also a successful screenwriter. Her screenplays have won several awards including the Avery Hopwood Award Winner for Best Screenplay, the Leonard and Eileen Newman Prize in Dramatic Writing, and the Peter and Barbara Benedek Award for Best Screenplay.
