Literacy for Humanities is a three-hour workshop designed to help teachers embed appropriate subject-specific language and to encourage pupils to adopt a more formalised academic register.
- Identify research-based approaches to developing literacy in humanities
- Understand the role of vocabulary acquisition and academic language in improving literacy
- Understand the importance of the shift from informal talk, through exploratory talk, to formal writing, in humanities
- Understand some distinctive language features of written texts in humanities

4 March - 2pm-5pm
£125 for the first delegate and £75 per additional delegate.
