Two-minute mindfulness

Two minute mindfulness

“I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather…. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration, I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal…. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.”

Haim G. Ginott.

Creating a peaceful moment

Finding the space and time to create a peaceful moment in the, often hectic, school term is never easy. However, making mindfulness part of your daily routine is a huge step in the right direction towards changing the climate of your own mind and consequently, your classroom.

Mindfulness is about accepting where we are right now without judgement or the need to be anywhere else. It’s about being in the present and not wandering off to the future nor looking back, criticising the past. Mindfulness is a practice and the more we practise the better we get, it’s not just a state of being; mindfulness is a way of life…

Give yourself the gift of a few minutes of self-nurturing: quieten the negative chatter, feel invigorated and learn the art of congratulating yourself for taking some ‘me time’ out of every single day with these short, helpful videos by Tony Dallas, qualified mindfulness coach and CEO of the children’s charity Success Club.
