Education Recovery - Summer school

Learning sequences supporting student transition from primary to secondary

Summer school learning sequences

“Summer school provision with an academic focus has the potential to support attending pupils to make up for some of their missed education.”
DfE 2021

Are you providing a summer school for students transitioning from primary to secondary school, or perhaps secondary students moving from Year 9 to Year 10? We have developed a series of pick-and-mix summer school learning sequences to help you deliver fun activities that will boost pupils’ reading, writing, speaking and listening.

All sequences are adapted from our evidence-based programmes and each will provide content to be taught across five days or more. We're including lesson plans, accompanying video content and downloadable resources to ensure that summer school learning is accessible, fun and easy to deliver.
