Since we began our Annual Literacy Pupil Survey in 2010, primary schools have been asking us whether their younger pupils can also take part. Now they can with our new Junior Annual Literacy Survey.
The new junior version of our annual survey explores children’s reading and writing enjoyment, attitudes and behaviour in a younger child-friendly way.
Participating schools get their own individual school report that outlines your basic findings, which you can compare nationally once the national reports are published.
You could use your report to:
- inform literacy strategy
- give as supporting evidence to OFSTED
- review your current literacy provision
How it works
We aim to survey children aged 5 to 8, both male and female, from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Participating schools will need to provide pupils with access to a 20-minute online survey, and we will do the rest.
