Hastings Harry Potter competition 2021

a magical year cover2

Get your quills out and illustrate your favourite location from the Harry Potter books for the chance to win a copy of Harry Potter – A Magical Year featuring the illustrations of Jim Kay.

Generously donated by Bloomsbury Publishing, this beautiful book of Harry Potter artwork and unforgettable quotations publishes in the autumn so you’ll be one of the first to get your hands on a copy!

J.K. Rowling describes many different places – from Diagon Alley and Gringotts Wizarding Bank to Hogwarts’ Great Hall and the Ministry of Magic. We want children and young people in Hastings (age 9 to 16) to get creative and show us what they imagine the magical places in the Harry Potter series look like.

ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED to Tuesday 2 November 2021!
The perfect activity for half term and Halloween!

  • What’s your favourite location? Why not head to the library and flick through the Harry Potter books for inspiration.
  • Pick your spot, then imagine what it might look like to conjure up your illustration.
  • Draw or paint your picture on A4 paper and don’t forget to include the name of the setting you’ve drawn, your name, age, school and a parent or carer’s email address and phone number on the back of your entry.
