Can you develop and support relationships with a range of high-profile ambassadors and supporters, to ensure that we can continue to raise awareness of and fund our work? Do you have excellent organisational skills and experience of providing team or diary support?
We are recruiting a Fundraising and Executive Support Officer to work on our fundraising events and relationships with major donors, and provide support to our executive management team.
This role will be based in our fundraising team, and be responsible for supporting events including our annual gala dinner, summer party, engagement dinners and profile-raising events with our Patron HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, ambassadors and author supporters.
You will need to be organised, tenacious and have excellent communication skills. You will represent the charity in a wide range of contexts, including at our high-profile fundraising events, so will need to have strong people skills and a sound understanding of supporter relations.
One person in six has poor literacy skills that impact on every area of their life. A child without good reading, writing and communication skills will struggle to succeed at school, and as an adult they could be locked out of the job market. Poverty doubles the likelihood that, by the age of five, a child’s literacy skills will be below average.
We are an independent charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK. Our research and analysis make us the leading authority on literacy. We run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians and parents, and support schools. Our mission is to give young people the literacy skills they need to get a job and lead a successful life.
As well as a competitive salary, we offer benefits including a generous annual leave allowance totalling 39 days (including bank holidays and office closure between Christmas and New Year), pensions contributions of 8% of annual salary, a cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans and other health and wellbeing benefits.
