In partnership with poet and author Steven Camden AKA Polarbear, and supported by REY Paper, we have created this fun and interactive storytelling project designed to inspire a love of story creation and storytelling for pupils aged 7 to 11 (KS2/P4 to P7).

About the Dream up a World storytelling project
Our project aims to help you connect the children in your class with creative elements that transform writing into a pleasurable, personal practice, incorporating the freedom to express their imaginative ideas.
The project allows pupils to:
- experience the craft of creation engaging with an author's writing process
- explore narrative writing skills through thinking aloud, planning, rehearsing, drafting and editing
- apply their own ideas to the creation of narrative settings, characters and plot.
How to use this resource
The resource includes a link to kickstart your storytelling project through watching Steven in action demonstrating his craft of interactive story building! Our classroom resources then provide a learning sequence for you to deliver which supports pupils in building their own story world inspired by Steven's own creative process.
You may like to consider taking time out of your normal timetable to deliver the project across a whole day, or two half days, to keep children's creativity flowing, maintain focus and culminate in a showcase of ideas.
